We can reply to posts from the archive! We can read one of, for example, Dale's posts from, say, 2002, and comment on it, which then brings Dale's comments to the front page! Which then brings the entire thread to this contemporary page! We can communicate directly with the past! And bring that past to the present! We can argue with our own past selves! Dan, this is a unique conversation you've assembled and maintained here. My hat is off! The logistical trick might be figuring out a way to preserve the original exchanges extant but still allow the contemporary commenting and bringing-forward-to-today stuff to happen. It's a really fascinating sociological tool. If you want to talk about sharing the costs of server space or whatever, please let me know.
But this whole page, from god knows when it started to this moment and tomorrow-- it's been a small but freewheeling, wide-ranging discussion on whatever was happening in the world at the time, for what, 25-30 years?
That's a historio-sociological document, Dan! A monthly window into our last few decades of social evolution, as we all hardened the national schism.
Amazing. Well done. (Betting we all end up with some eggs on our faces, but still. Interesting, valuable document.)😗
