the only way to combat a guerilla force that is embedded into the material fabric of a society is to have the society itself reject the guerillas. It can't be done with tanks or airplanes or even ground forces. It has to be done with aid and soft power, and bribes, and blackmail, and double agents and informants and propaganda and the absolute minimum of force.

Yes, bombing the place until it is just a smoking hole in the ground and indiscriminately killing thousands of innocent people will not, under any circumstance, win hearts and minds. We know what happens when you overwhelm people with force...you become intensely hated. 

Really, if Bibi was an honest broker he would resign, and step aside because with him in place, there can be no peace. Sure, you have to remove Hamas, but they are just one side of the coin. To get rid of this bad penny, you have to toss both sides of it out and Bibi and his lot are the other side.
