I think you read it right, he was terrified, and really had good reason to be. I mean life is weird and tough enough to go through healthy, he went through it in a level of pain and suffering I don't think any of us would want to experience.
The toughest conversation I had with him was when he told me he had personally seen the shape shifting lizard people. This was not an easy talk and I decided I would not try to get him off that ledge. So, I accepted his story and what he was telling me. He told me he could show me proof but I would have to come visit him in person in upstate New York. I think he lived up in the Buffalo area.
It was obvious the guy had been through some really rough stuff in his life and it was also obvious that he was getting some of his info from bad sources, like Jones and Icke. I think he had a pretty good relationship with Alex Jones and he encouraged me to meet Icke in person. He really tried to get me to subscribe to whatever Jones was putting out at the time.
I think once you get far enough down some of the rabbit holes he was going down, that epic game of dot connecting becomes easier and easier for you. He was into all of that.
The Jones part of it fascinates me because had Kent not introduced me to Alex Jones way back then, I would have just thought he was some right wing freakshow. Knowing who Jones was when Kent was into him though, shows how the guy would sell any kind of bullshit he got hold off. That's what Trump loves about Jones, that he has the ability to convince people of totally ridiculous nonsense.
I recall Jones at one point getting pissed off about the Q Anon stuff because Q Anon would give actual dates of when things were going to happen. Jones said you never give actual dates because then the date comes and goes and you are proven wrong, you just want to allude to this thing is going to happen, some day, some time in the future and then if it happens you then start screaming "See I told you!"
