How is it that MAGAt Republicans, in general, and Greg Abbott, in particular, are able to get away with taking over the Southern border with state troops? In the past few days, the Texas troops refused to let the Federal Border Patrol agents in to a section of the Rio Grande River and refused to save a mother and her 2 children who were having trouble and subsequently drowned. Federal law is supposed to take precedence over state law but these trumpers are grandstanding in order to send a case to SCOTUS. All this time they’ve been bitchin’ and moanin’ about caravans coming to invade our country, they refuse to work with democrats on legislation to do anything at the Mexico/US border. They’re just using this as a cudgel to beat Biden over the head with during the campaign. Same song, different tune and so frustrating.
