Icon No, I don't think it makes much sense...

I know that's the focus, that Biden agreed to give more weapons to Israel, but I don't think that is about money nor about supporting the idea that Israel can use those bombs on kids. I think it is symbolic, in that it is a message to the rest of the Middle East that the United States does not want anybody else getting into this conflict. I think Bibi calls it his US Iron Dome, in that the other nations surrounding them know the US will protect them.

It's a message Biden is sending with that, "Stay out of this conflict!" that is what this is about. I think if they did not send it, then other nations would be emboldened to attack Israel and join the fray. I think if Biden could do what he wanted to do he would cut Bibi off. The problem is, if he did, that would be the moment the rest of the Middle East would go right at Israel. They would see the US condemning Israel as the OK to attack them.

The thought process there is not what it is here or in Europe. It is basically like dealing with suicide bombers, these people are willing to sacrifice a lot of lives to meet their goals. Bibi thinks the West is weak, that we are too concerned about human lives. The other countries in the region criticize the US and say we are allowing Israel to commit war crimes, but if they had their chance, if the US stepped out of the way, they would commit atrocities against Israel. So, you have to juggle all of that.

One reason why I think you can negotiate with Putin and the Russians is that I think they would prefer not to have a war. The Russian people don't have an appetite for it. Hell, Putin has to hire an outside army to fight his war. He literally has to hire contractors. I think a negotiation can happen with that situation.

In the Middle East, they have an appetite for war. For killing each other. For talking about wiping each other off the map. We fret more about the lost lives than they do. In their eyes, all of these dead people, no matter who they are, no matter which side, are useful.

We are coming in saying "Wait, let's help the innocents!" and they are all saying "There are no innocents!"
