It's amazing how wildlife will adapt.  There have been Peregrine Falcons in downtown Cleveland for years, and I've seen other raptors downtown and in the suburban areas as well.  There is what I believe is a sharp shinned hawk in my neighborhood  (inner ring suburb) and I've seen a larger raptor that I could not identify until this summer.

While I was cutting my lawn last summer, I found a dead fawn on the property line between me and my neighbors house.  There is a respiratory illness going through the local deer population, and I figured that was the cause.  The body was fresh, but the smell of decomp went up as I lifted the corpse to dispose of it.   I went back to my riding mower and presently saw a large shadow pass my field of vision and a slight breeze at my head.  I looked up and was being divebombed by a Golden Eagle!  He circled and charged me three more times before he flew off.  I checked after I was finished with the lawn, confirmed the breed, and that it would eat carrion.  With the smell of decomp rising from the lawn and possibly on me from my interaction with the fawn, the eagle probably thought I was interfering with a food source - which I did.
