For those out there on the board, and especially from DB, I'd be interested in hearing thoughts on why the sale of CDs has dropped so much and criticisms about music in general.Myself, I don't buy the argument that there isn't good music out there. My complaint is that there is such a lack of diversity of music out there and that corporate music has created a system that limits the repeated playing of good, diverse music on the radio. But I also think something that hurts radio airplay is the presence of the CD player in vehicles. Nowadays people bring their own music instead of listening to radio stations. But the cost of CDs is also a problem. Because I lack the capabilities, I don't download (and thank goodness for that with the recent litigation), but I do buy a lot of CDs. I just purchased the box set to Martin Scorsese Presents the Blues and seven of the other companion CDs to the PBS series. So, how about anyone else?
