I mean, as regards to strictly a government American society deserves?

Now, let me set this straight - I am not expressing that it is the government HUMANS deserve because my use of the word humans is to illustrate a human should be caring, compassionate, sincere, with a sense of fairness and justice, and a drive to make the world a genuinely better place, and to me, our current American Society does not fully embrace this and there is a huge difference in my use of "humans" and "American Society."

Let's face it - American Society is all about the accumulation of property and wealth.  It is not about the creation and fostering of a truly human, culture-filled society that involves the promotion of a truly value-filled life.  Instead, we have a country based upon the pursuit of something that is truly valueless - wealth.

Some time ago, I read a piece about the original concept of "the pursuit of happiness" and how it is interpreted today and they are two completely polar opposites (here is a link that explains this - https://www.pursuit-of-happiness.org/history-of-happiness/john-locke/. Sadly, it shows an actual de-evolution of a value-driven American society rather than progress.  And to me, if one is honest, a full examination of the changing concept of this simple phrase can lead to a much larger appreciation of just how far off track this country has gotten.

Now, to me, the most horrifying and rotten aspect of all of this is while receiving the government American society deserves, the truly innocent are the number one victims of it.  And to add to this disgust is the fact that so many wonderful Americans are simply powerless to effect humanistic change, especially at the individual level.

I think another way to illustrate how American Society is complicit in the government we have today only takes an examination of all major actions taken by our US Government throughout the history of America. If one is honest, almost all of these major actions have been based on lies and misrepresentations ever since 1492.

From Columbus's lies and treatment of the indigenous of this country to our current military actions (many are oblivious to how Columbus once had a Native American eviscerated to see if he had the same internal organs as Europeans).

My point in all of this is this - we, the People, have allowed American Society to take the easy way out each and every time and now we find our country where it is today, and really, at the end of the day, who's fault is that?

Sincerely, it's not some guy from Ireland's fault, and though it may be uncouth for someone outside of the US to rub our faces in it, it is still a lesson we Americans need to understand and appreciate.

Frankly, historically we have been a very lucky Country and in my view, primarily due to our geographical location alone.  I shake my head when I hear America Firsters brag how America has never been invaded (except for by the White man), when the mere reason for the lack of invasions has largely been prevented by simple logistics and geographical placement on a globe.

My last example is this - I visit the elderly mother of a dead friend of mine in a nursing home.  She is 81 and with a lucid mind and a betraying body.  This woman has known me my entire life and now, because of the cost of American healthcare, she will be forced to sell her home and all her property to receive the care she needs in this nursing home.  Now, contrast this to a society that allows for a man to have a 500 million dollar yacht built for himself.

How can American Society not deserve the government it deserves when things such as this occur every single second of every day?

And like I earlier stated - the first victims in all of this are good people and good people do not deserve this but maybe a society that is so baseless in decent human qualities should not be surprised when it is pointed out that the society that they live in does just this.
