Of all the murders I ever worked on, some bring more outrage than others and one with a bit more outrage than others was quite a surprise.

An elderly and ill husband first shot his wife, killing her, then, went into a room with the family dog - if I recall correctly, it was an Irish Setter, but I could be wrong - and killed the dog and then went and laid down beside his wife and shot himself. 

When this hit the local media, residents were madder than hell he killed the family dog while saying hardly anything about the murder of his wife. 

So, Ms. Noem, the moral to the story is, though there may be many, many assholes in this country, the overwhelming number of Americans do give a shit about family pets and this utter sickening confession only done to exhibit some sort of sick toughness hopefully may have just ended your career.

Ps...just the other day a young man filmed himself tossing a cat out of a moving vehicle in this area and, again, people are pissed off big time at this juvenile for killing an animal in that way.
