Yes that makes sense but everyone will pull back together. This is not usually what's done. This started to with Win with Black Women having a meeting last Sunday, the day Kamala announced. They usually have a zoom meeting on Sundays but 40,000 women logged in that day and raised $1.6 million. Then, not to be outdone, a Black men's group had a zoom the next night and raised $1.5million. Thursday, a women's group had a White Women's Call to Action. We broke zoom and raised $11 million. There were also latino women's calls and some other specialized groups.
Tonight, there is a DNC call for ALL women. The reason I think they're are different groups is those groups already existed for other reasons and they used that infrastructure to get to work quickly. Also, I know that as white women, we have to have a different mission than other women in that it is up to us to show the majority of white women who vote for trump and other republicans why they are voting against their own interests. That is something that brown and black women may not feel comfortable doing. Women of color have been carrying the heavy burden on getting dems elected for too long.
Men, as allies in the current post Dobbs USA also have a different mission when speaking about areas like reproductive rights. These divisions won't be going on for long. This is just to get everyone on board and headed in the right direction. This meeting for "white dudes" tonight will be great to hopefully get an idea of some talking points to use with your buddies because you won't talk to same way to your female friends. Also, you are in the position of having the heavy responsibility of talking to other white men about why they need to vote for Harris.
Like I said, most things are done altogether...although now that I think about it there are many women's only groups that have been doing organizing work since 2016 and have been really successful at getting women involved in doing the work that needs to be done to elect people that share liberal ideas.
