And to clarify, I don't mean this 50/50 thing about just this election, but all through our society.
And I think one major part of it is how researchers have found that when it comes to the beliefs of Americans, even when faced with facts and evidence about their beliefs often times drill down even more so on their beliefs rather than admit being wrong (and even this falls into my use of the word "how" in "how are we a 50/50 country" - I mean, HOW has our society developed in a way that even when faced with facts and evidence our fellow Americans still demand to believe what is wrong? So, this sort of the most basic form of my use of "how" - shit, people that read this will wonder if I am stoned - yes, I am, but what's that got to do with anything???).
But to illustrate my point a little better, take out the names of people or even their party affiliation and then instead insert their genuine character and further examine that, and this is also the part of "how" I'm referring to.
For example, completely remove Trump and R from his behavior and character and just list his behavior toward the military dead these past years.
To me, ANY American who would utter the same comments or behave the same way as Trump has toward the military and those who have served should be jettisoned from any sort of legitimate place in our government or leadership.
So my "how" is, "how has this country got to a point where it is permissible for ANY American to behave this way with no repercussions whatsoever?
So I guess it is more about "how" the fuck did we get here - where we are now as a society and wilful ignorance is a virtue and warring with our fellow Americans has become bloodsport?
