I remember always being really intimidated by Steely Dan.
They were so... steely; in their demeanour, in their musicianship, in their cynical outlook... And those fucking arrangements! They were legendary bastards in the studios out here. There are still a lot of musicians and engineers and such still working that worked with them.

So I was flattered when people would say that, it made my
urban ruminations seem smarter and hipper somehow. More grown up, maybe.
