It was actually Lake Melissa, where my mom's sister and her husband have a summer lake place. My mother and her family are from Fargo. Her grandfather and his brother moved to Minnesota from Norway and lived in a cave for three years before they managed to build a farm. My mother's father
owned a movie theatre there. Her Aunt Adeline wrote these incredibly charming books about growing up in those environs,
which I still treasure. But my knowledge of the area is mostly second hand. My mother's family name is Aamoth.
