Icon Bio: In My Right Mind

I am 38 years old and shallow as a kiddie pool (as my wife sometimes thinks). I certainly am not as philosophical as most of you. I am married to a wonderful woman and have two beautiful children. I am probably the only "right winger" on this site, so I don't agree with a lot of political issues from people here, but it would be boring if everyone thought like I do.

I live in Connecticut and went to school in Boston where my major was graduating. My brother and I build houses for a living and I also manage an office building. I find it satisfying to create a home from something that started out as a pile of wood. I also enjoy the outdoors and doing the physical labor, from the framing to the excavating. (My son digs the big trucks, too).

I've always loved music, from my stoned high school days listening to the Doors with Jim Morrison (it was actually a good buddy who swore he was Jim Morrison!!) to my current days, where my musical tastes run from Baerwald to Joe Satriani. I also like Days of the New, Live, Robert Plant, Eric Johnson, Matchbox 20 and the GooGoo Dolls, to name only a few. I played the drums and electric guitar for a short time when I was young but was never really good at it and didn't have the drive to practice enough. At one point, we put together a band and were actually able, with much practice, to play the beginnings of six songs! After that, I pretty much stuck to listening; however, I do play a mean air guitar.

I like a lot of sports and play in a softball league. Some people think I'm too old to be playing but I don't, and neither does my wife, that's why I married her. It's fun to see the guys and knock back a couple beers after.

As for drugs, I smoked waaay too much pot in high school (just ask my mother, I drove her crazy), did some coke in college and drank waaay too much (that's what college is for, right?)

Now I relax by playing with my kids (we dance around playing air guitar to our favorite tunes), hanging out at Cape Cod in the summer and being with my wife, which reminds me every day what a lucky bastard I am.

That's all for now.
