Hello everyone-
Just wanted to chime in with my two cents regarding music suggestions. Two cd's in particular have had a hard time making it back to the rack recently. The first being from an artist I first heard on the "Natural Born Killers" soundtrack, but didn't take notice of until he turned up again on the soundtrack to David Lynch's "Lost Highway". Barry Adamson. The title in question is his 1998 release "As above So below". the best way for me to sum it up would be: jazzy-funky, occassionally noisy (in the best possible way), smooth and witty, thickly textured, multi-layered funhouse music. Just plain groovy.
The second disc to be banished from the self to suffer repeated play is from an equally unique gentleman by the name of Joe Henry. The offending title is his 1999 offering, "Fuse". Wonderfully beautiful music supports craftily (is that a word?) written lyrics. Not to be missed if you are (David +) David Baerwald fan.
Give these guys a try... I don't think you'll be disappointed... too much. If it's female vocalists you like, try anything by The Innocence Mission or the always reliable Cowboy Junkies.
Thanks for listening-
Jimmy
