I don't know...I keep hearing how the death penalty isn't a deterrent but I have to wonder just how that assumption is made. Apparently someone has polled people who didn't commit murder because they feared being executed and they found there weren't enough of them to deem it a deterrent.
For better or worse, our country executes those who kill. McVeigh knew this and yet he did what he did. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disturbed by the thought of an execution...but not nearly as disturbed as I am by what McViegh did.
