Hello again,

>>Yes, I do dismiss the notion of a violent revolution, at >>least with any emphasis on violent. The kind of >>revolution I support is already happening, I think. More >>of a spiritual/cultural kind of thing. Give it time...

We do agree on some issues...

>>My own ever-continuing personal spiritual/cultural >>revolution. The nation hasn't yet come to me, beseeching >>me as one, to cure its many ills.

I wasn't hinting such a thing, or hinting that you had framed yourself in such a way. Even though you've been out of the `public eye` (whatever that is) for a while, I could have envisioned you going further down the road with your `causes` in the same way Cockburn has been out on the stump for a landmine free world or Jackson Browne has supported the anti-nuclear lobby.

>>I don't have any documentation that isnt available from
>>a well-stocked library, but if I had any, I'd bring it to >>you, of course. Where else?

Why thank you =o) Where I can see the validity of many of the things you have said, in other cases (the AIDS conspiracy for one) I'm reminded of the routine Bill Hicks did in relation to backward messages on heavy-metal records. ("I know, lets kill our fans") If some of the sum-total of what you said in `Triage` could be misrepresented as "the government is flawed, essentially suspect and run by a crowd of idiots and meglamaniacs" I'm having a little trouble in grasping why the hell they'd spend tax money on killing people who they could tax, control and scare.

>>Well, I don't find nihilism particularly funny, but I >>suppose I am kind of just sitting back and winding my >>metaphorical watch, and generally just trying to enjoy >>life and be productive to the best of my ability.

That's good to hear.

>>What would you recommend? Honestly, you sound upset that >>I'm not on a rooftop somewhere with a rifle, exhorting my >>nonexistent troops to some ill-conceived and tragic and >>doomed action.

Not at all. Although the inner-pragmatist in me would say that if you feel the government is as corrupt and f***** as you've hinted, the only options I'd see are a) join a religious or social group to try and influence things b) run for political office c) ignore it d) jump out of a window. (Personally I fluctuate between a & c.)

>>At the end of the film , Aguirre (Klaus Kinski) is on a >>raft, his soldiers (and his heartbreakingly beautiful >>daughter) lie dead, surrounding him. "Get up!", he >>shouts, "We'll conquer Spain!" Is this how you envision >>my last days?

Errr - no, but if it's the choice between that and you linking arms with Alec Baldwin and Martin Sheen I'd hope you'd go out all guns blazing.

Even though you and I are diametrically opposed on many things, I respect your agenda more as you`re willing to `connect` to issues (like Brucie and Jackson). Thanks for not following the `celebrity route` by speaking to the `vast-ring wing conspiracy` with a pomposity that would do Jerry Falwell proud - then when you're with your liberal buddies, you're living like John Stuart Mill reincarnate.

Adios,
Richard
