Saw the above mentioned performers last night here in Vancouver,Canada. A great show at an intimate theatre.Steve Earle played the first of the bill. A couple of acoustic numbers to open up with, then the inroduction of the lastest incarnation of The Dukes. A really tight, loud rock n roll band, but when Steve straps on the acoustic guitar and harmonica you truly appreciate the skill and quality of his songwriting. I admit I was there to see Mr. Earle but Mary Chapin Carpenter was very good. A beautiful clear voice and haunting, intimate songs accompanied with her own impressive guitar work, using a lot of open and different tunings. After the show I was lucky enough to meet and get Steve to sign one of my favorite acoustic guitars that played a hell of a lot of music before my spinal cord injury. Anyway enough rambling,if this tour hits a town near you check it out.
