Well, I guess we'll see. I do think that, you know, the way they've begun the investigation is odd...of course Ashcroft is in charge...but now that they've sent out the letters and e-mails about "not destroying evidence" I'm sure there are shredders working overtime and hard drives being wiped out faster than you can say "CIA-GATE"...of course you have to take into consideration that they were all told in July so they've had a two month head start to destroy evidence before the actual investigation began. Was this just a warning shot fired by the CIA to let Cheney and company know "Don't screw with us" since they've been shitting all over the CIA.
Or did the CIA already collect the evidence it needs to nail them and they are now just hanging on to it waiting for the right time to spring it on Buschco? You gotta admit this thing is a loaded situation with the CIA and Bush administration obviously having no use for each other.
As to the press conference...I think that was more a nervous and guilty smirk but who knows when your own guy (Ashcroft) is running the show and Cheney probably telling Bush not to worry...well, we'll see I guess...we'll see...
