I'm trying to get in touch with management for David Baewald to see if he would be interested in performing at NEMO 2002 (April 11-13) The NEMO Music Showcase and Conference is similar to CMJ and SXSW, and takes place annually in Boston (coming up to its sixth year).
My role is Showcase Director, and I'm contacting a handful of my favorite bands directly to see if they would be interested in participating directly (without having to go through the showcase screening process). Although artists aren't paid a fee for performing, all members do receive free registration for the entire conference, and are able to participate in great networking opportunities at the conference, as well as showcase in one of the best clubs in Boston. I've been a huge fan of David's ever since "David and David" and would love to be able to get him to perform at the conference if he is interested in promoting any new material he might have coming up. I could also probably organize some sort of pannel opportunity for him if he was interested, which is another great way to network with industry, especially if he's doing most things now pretty much on his own without a label.
