For those of you who are PETER GABRIEL fans, he has just released a soundtrack for a movie called RABBIT PROOF FENCE. The CD is called LONG WALK HOME and is along the lines of PASSION. This disc has to be purchased as an IMPORT, as the film was from AUSTRAILIA.
Incidentially, the inside of the booklet explains what RABBIT PROOF FENCE is all about:
"RABBIT PROOF FENCE is the true story of MOLLY CRAIG, one of Austrailia's "Stolen Generation." Molly, a fourteen year old aboriginal girl, and her younger sister and cousin (aged eight and ten) had been taken fifteen hundred miles from their home and family to one of the government institutions that had been established to train aboriginal children as domestic workers for white society.
Molly led the girls in an escape. Pursued by trackers, they succeeded in finding the RABBIT PROOF FENCE that Molly knew could lead them all the way across Australia's outback to their home."
Kind of makes me realize that even in AmeriKa, things aren't as bad as in other places, and this is one of them. As you may or may not realize, Australia used to be the PENAL COLONY for Britian.
Check this out, well worth it!
Also, PETER GABRIEL'S entire catalog has been REMASTERED, and they sound absolutely STUNNING!
