Went to the Mars Ampthitheater in West Palm Beach to hand out DB & The NFU samplers and postcards at the Tom Petty/Jackson Browne concert. They were both incredibly tight, almost too perfect. Jackson Browne mentioned that he was glad to be out of LA. Tom Petty gave a great little speech after playing one of his new songs that was received lightly that went something like this: "I guarantee that you won't hear that song trying to sell you a car or TV. Its not going to try and sell you cereal, or soda, beer or orange juice. This tour has absolutely no corporate sponsor. We are brought to you, by you." The music was great, but it was almost more fun handing the stuff out in the parking lot and spreading the word about David and the NFU. No one had heard of Bedtime Stories or Triage and only a few had heard of Boomtown. One very sophisticated lady did recogninze David's name from Moulin Rouge. But all were receptive to listening to their music, which was cranked on really loud on the car cd player.
