I was talking to an acquaintance who is definitely enthused about this administration, even going so far as throwing out the bizarro-world framing of a return to integrity. I mostly took a listening stance and they finally said the soft part out loud declaring we are finally returning to a "Christian backbone". From that view of the battlefield it seems a short step to further warp the narrative of bad guys and good guys. And as said so many different ways on this board, democracy (along with basic decency) seems just collateral damage.
