Definitely not for everyone's taste but if you like a strong female vocalist I would check out London Grammar. Hannah Reid moves from a sultry contralto to dramatic and evocative highs. A little too melodramatic for many but highly recommended if it's your style. First album is voice forward, latter albums have a little more pop sensibility.
On the movie side, my wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed the collaborations from Danes Mads Mikkelsen, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, and Anders Thomas Jensen. We've seen three of the five films and not a single misfire in the batch. DSlacker, you've got yourself a national treasure in that trio.
