When I asked you about a Night of the Long Knives how I was thinking of that was that the way I see MAGA is not as one big unified group but rather as a group of smaller factions that don't all share the same goals and ideas. They are only a unified group in terms of getting Trump elected, but as Trump himself told people before the election, "I only need you to vote for me this one time and then you will never have to vote again."
So, I believe that within that big tent of MAGA there are warring groups and that there will eventually be a culling.
My guess is how this works is that what this is always about is a consolidation of power and really what they want is a small group of men at the top that decide what the ultimate goals are and what the path to achieve those goals will be. They have used a much larger group to grab power, the voters, the minions in state governments, the idiotic true believers in the federal government, but the goal, the real goal, is not to need these people. Essentially, you don't want to need them because you will eventually openly betray them because built into the goals of the small group of men at the top is to keep the group small.
The smaller the group, the less people you need to worry about betraying you, plus culling from a small group if there is a betrayal is easier. Culling from the small group is much more satisfying because if you cull a billionaire from your small group, the rest of you split what he had. You can only rape your followers for their cash for so long because that will eventually dry up. The plan to give 4.5 trillion to billionaires, so that we eventually have a small group of trillionaires, Musk intends to be first to that goal, is already difficult because to achieve that goal...you basically have to wipe out everything and then some.
So, the lowly voters, the people that wanted reduced inflation, the price of consumer goods to go down, they are the first to be betrayed but they will ask for the betrayal and welcome the suffering because they are told they are being patriotic to suffer. Trump already tried out "It's patriotic to pay more!"
Some people saw Mother Teresa as evil because she believed suffering was good for human beings because it brought them closer to god. If you want people that will accept suffering, turn to the religious.
Here's where I saw the J6 pardons playing into this. It established that yes, if you commit crimes for Trump, there will be no price to pay. Hence, he is the law. Plus these people, J6 criminals can serve a purpose. The Oath Keepers, Proud Boys, the KKK all of these gangs could be used to come down on dissenters in the big MAGA tent. To silence them, threaten them, shut them up when they complain. Oath Keepers, Proud Boys, these groups have different goals than some guy in Kentucky that just wants inflation to go down and to pay less for his eggs.
I see them as having limited usefulness though. Sure, there is racist angle to these guys, but like Trump and Musk raping the public for their cash, after you have jailed, killed, thrown into concentration camps, deported many brown people, well, like the cash Trump cons MAGA voters out of, supply will dwindle and dry up. Then the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys, and KKK goons, they would need culling.
Musk's goals are pretty clearly stated as well. He does not want to create jobs, he does not believe people have value unless they serve him. The one thing Donald and Elon deeply share are their transactional natures. If you have something to give them, you will be acknowledged, once they get it...you have no value.
Musk wants to replace workers with AI wherever possible. His goal to slash the human workforce everywhere.
Here is a simple and straightforward question to ask a supporter of this MAGA monster show. What defines a country?
My answer to that question, I'll just say it, is its people.
Yes, a land can have all kinds of identifying factors but when you go to a country, what will define the experience in that country, are the people of that country.
Along with their transactional nature, Musk and Trump share a very deep belief that people don't matter. They are an annoyance, something to be dealt with and removed. I did not bring up that stuff about each human life having a dollar value for no reason...this is a defining aspect of how Trump and Musk think and what their goals are.
If someone questions that, all you need do is listen to their own words and point at their actions.
Musk openly expresses the workforce is a burden and can be replaced with AI...not some of the workforce, pretty much all of it. His AI of course. His goal, openly stated and what he is openly doing, is to completely slash the workforce, starting in the government and working out from there. His open message to people is "I don't need you, I don't want you, I want nothing to do with you."
Trump in his open statements about Gaza and Ukraine has plainly said he cares nothing for the people there, they do not matter. He says he will just remove the Palestinians, send them somewhere else and Gaza will be a new resort area where the world, those with the money to do so, can frolic. Where do two million Palestinians go? Anywhere but Gaza. He says to rebuild Gaza, turn it into a resort area where Pat Brown and Marc can go sun themselves and drink fruity flavored drinks, could take a decade but somehow "beautiful housing in a whole new area" will suddenly appear for these two million people. So, a decade to build the new Gaza resort area where these two million people lived, but instantly there will be beautiful housing for Palestinians somewhere else, in a new country that will not be theirs, but this new country is going to welcome them and treat them like kings and queens.
Are we not smelling the bullshit here people?
These two men do not believe in nor have any use for people. For human beings. They exist as an impediment to their goals. And the fact is, if you do not believe in people, you do not believe in countries...Trump and Musk share this as well. So, we have two guys running our country that do not give a shit about it nor the people in it. And let's face it, if you are outside of it, you count even less...unless you are a billionaire...then your life has value and meaning. Yup, cue Ned Beatty in Network, "Am I getting through to you Mr. Brown?"
This is why Trump thinks nothing of saying he will take Canada, Greenland, Panama, whatever he wants. There are no countries to him, no boundaries, no people. Just his desires, his greed, his madness.
Now, yes, Steve Bannon says Elon Musk is "evil" a "truly evil man" and so, Bannon is ripe for culling. Musk does not like Bannon at all. I don't know if we would equate Bannon to Rohm, but like Rohm, he is now an expendable part. All he is, is a mouth, a big mouth and a drunkard. He can try to tackle Musk but problem is, the top of the MAGA pyramid loves Musk's money and they want the cash, believe in the cash, believe if they hang on to Musk's coattails the can maybe get some of the cash. They won the White House, they no longer need the mouth.
Maybe the Rohm equivalent is Stewart Rhodes when he has finished serving his purpose. I don't know. Pete Hegseth could be Rohm if he fucks up. Basically, I am thinking there will be a culling and it will be about removing dangers within the MAGA tent, people that could betray the 6 or 8 or 10 or 12 people that sit at the top. The billionaires looking for their $4.5 trillion in payouts so they can be trillionaires.
It is, basically you said it David, that worry of an internal betrayal. That's where the knife comes from. It won't be a Democrat or a liberal that delivers the blow. It is why Marco Rubio has a minder. He is already marked as a potential betrayer.
Musk and Trump know the value of a good culling.
