You're absolutely right Peter. If Sandy Hook didn't move the needle with restrictions on guns / hand guns / assault style weapons - then nothing will. We are a deranged society as a whole. We somehow equate gun ownership with freedom. The 2nd amendment is considered the most important part of the Constitution above all else. And the fact that gun deaths is the #1 reason since 2020 for kids 1-17 to die is held as an acceptable side effect for our ability to own guns en masse without restrictions. Think about that. We have the head of health and human services focused on minimizing science and promoting fear all in the name of protecting kids - and then simply forgetting the real physical and mental impact of guns. That is who we are. And even if you don't have a gun under your pillow, we're all in this together.

And Peter, I have to imagine that fear is not just with the children but their teachers as well.
