OK, so here is what seems to be going down.
Trump has been advised that pardoning Maxwell should only be the nuclear option. It will look horrible if he lets his old pal Maxwell walk free with the world knowing she is one of the worst child molesters we know of. Bad, bad look that probably upsets a lot of his base. Pardoning her would be the same as if he pardoned Epstein in 2019. He ended up not having to do that because Epstein died while Trump was president. Make of that what you will.
However, Trump is (barring anything very bizarre) in his final term as president and so, he really does not give a fuck that he would upset his base. He will pardon her if he has to.
Blanche and the DOJ are looking for a way to take the bullet for letting Maxwell go. That was why Blanche met with her, that is what Bondi and the DOJ are trying to work out. The way to do this would be for the DOJ to submit a weak brief to the Supreme Court that is full of holes and leaves an opening for the SC to claim her case must be thrown out based on the deal Alex Acosta gave Epstein. This is not a good case, but Blanche and the DOJ can try to find a way to give the SC wiggle room to decide to let Maxwell go. And if the SC wants to try to help Trump again, the Republican appointed justices will rule her case must be thrown out and Maxwell would have to be let out of jail. Probably so she can leave the country, and someone in whatever country she flees to kills her or she has an "accident" or sudden "health crisis" that kills her.
Yes, it is true, your tax dollars are being spent to find a way to let child molesters get away with it. Enjoy that.
So, Trump is on hold with a pardon until the Supreme Court can rule on if Maxwell should have her whole case thrown out based on a Florida deal that never mentions her, does not actually apply to her, but hilariously if they deem that it does, means that yes, she is guilty, but due to the Acosta deal, must be let go.
It's so horrid and bogus that if it happens, Trump will dance around with glee, declare all of the Epstein story was a hoax, and that we should never discuss it again. If the Supreme court upholds her sentence, which they should, then Trump would pardon her. Which means he will take full responsibility for letting her go. Sort of, he will claim that Maureen Comey, the only actual hero in this fucking story, made everything up when she got Epstein and Maxwell convicted.
It would be amazing for Trump, because he would not only be helping his fellow child molester, he would slander a good person at the same time. Trump loves slandering good people.
