Hey Dan, no e-bike for me, at least not yet. I had knee replacement surgery on my right knee a little over a year ago. I saw my orthopedic surgeon for patellar tendonitis issues I'd been experiencing. He asked why I was waiting to have my knee replaced when it should've been done years ago. I replied that I didn't want to outlive the replacement. He assured me that I could ride as aggressively as I'd like and never have to worry about outliving the replacement. He said they're good for 30 years, provided I don't take up running again. I'm riding my bike harder than I have in many years. It feels nice not to have to contend with the pain I'd accepted for too long.
I'm finally the owner of a drone. I've been waiting more than ten years for a drone capable of following me on my rides through wooded trails to come along. Many have tried, but they all come up woefully short at staying locked on. While the DJI Neo 2 that I just purchased isn't perfect in that regard, it's pretty impressive. I've not had it on the trails yet, but I hope to soon. Here I am in the video below, playing around with it and checking how high it would go: 393 feet, just shy of 120 meters.
Wishes for health, happiness, and an end to the madness in DC in 2026. I know, it's a lot to ask for.
