I checked it out and while Stills did record the first digital album in 1979, it was long after Manassas. From the site:http://www.4waysite.com/faq/faqgeneral.htmQ Who was the first musician on earth who recorded digitally?
A Stephen Stills! He went into the studio in 1979 and cut an album with the then-revolutionary digital recording system. So his 1979 version of "Cherokee" was the first digitally recorded rock song.
