The below person's attempt at "humor" made me wonder about the controversy over the granting of driver licenses to illegal immigrants in California.Could someone explain the rationale behind this? The reason I ask is being from the midwest, I assume people in California had a good rationales for this decision and with all the complaints from the right, there might have been good reasons to do so (tax collection, tracking workers, protecting people from accidents, increased insurance sales, et cetera). So, could someone in the know educate those of us not in California (and in my case, those of us who are too lazy to research it). Thanks....
