I think we talked about this once a few years ago...but I'll fess up. I love music period, the crap and the good stuff. So, let's have a look at my CRAP shall we?
Billy Joel: I've seen him live a few times, great piano player and some of his stuff has great lyrics. But still, he's schmaltzy.
Garth Brooks: I think I own all of his records up until that Chris Gaines thing which I never bought. Yeah, it's formulaic and predictible and often times melodramatic but some of his songs really get my heart goin'.
Big Country: The first four recordings available on Mercury Records. I don't care what anybody else says, this band was AMAZING. I was really sad to see Stuart Adamson pass on last year (?). If you're a drummer, have a listen to this stuff. Mark Brzecki (sp?) was able to stuff rudimentary solidness AND Peart/Copeland flash into almost EVERY song without it sounding overbearing.
Celine Dion: Hello, my name is Paul and I like Celine Dion. (Hello Paul! *applause*) I own three of her albums and I think she has a lot of integrity despite her show in Las Vegas.
Enya: Hello, my name is Paul and I like Enya. My wife didn't even know I liked Enya until she caught me listening to one of her CD's over the summertime.
Ok...that's about as much self disclosure as I can stand.
