Greetings:

The new PETER GABRIEL compilation HIT contains 29 songs --- 19 of which previously appear on the various studio albums of his career. As I explained in my post to Willis --- 10 songs appear on this collection that were previously unreleased, or were creative remixes of songs appearing on his various other albums.

Here is what is new (50:16 run time) on PETER GABRIEL HIT. The songs appearing here for the first time will be listed below in my famous and patented ALL CAPS LETTERING:

01) BURN YOU UP, BURN YOU DOWN - 2003 (5:26)

02) Growing Up (Tom Lord-Alge Remix) (4:48)

03) Blood Of Eden (Radio Edit) (5:07)

04) More Than This (Radio Edit) (4:33)

05) Steam (Radio Edit) (6:02)

06) Here Comes The Flood (4:33)

07) The Tower That Ate People (Steve Osborne Remix) (4:04)

08) LOVETOWN - 1994 (5:21)

09) Downside Up (LIVE) (5:34)

10) Cloudless (4:48)

Source Notes: For the two brand new songs, I have listed their year of recording. The live track Downside Up was taken from the twenty show collectors' box set, of which only 150 copies were sold worldwide. Cloudless appears on Long Walk Home, the soundtrack for Rabbit-Proof Fence, and it also appears on one of the sub-menus of the Growing Up Live DVD. The version of Here Comes The Flood is from the 1990 compilation Shaking The Tree.

The one mistake is that Steam appears to be the full-length album version of the song. Both songs THE TOWER THAT ATE PEOPLE and DOWNSIDE UP are from the wonderful UK-only release OVO.

Here is the complete track listing of PETER GABRIEL HIT:

Disc One - HIT (75:52 run time)

Solsbury Hill / Shock The Monkey / Sledgehammer / Don't Give Up / Games Without Frontiers / Big Time / Burn You Up, Burn You Down / Growing Up / Digging In The Dirt / Blood Of Eden / More Than This / Biko / Steam / Red Rain / Here Comes The Flood

Disc Two - MISS (74:30 run time)

Even if you have these other 19 songs, please remember that all of these tracks have been remastered. So, if you have the older versions of these CD's, you are going to hear a marked and noticable improvement in the sonic quality.
