I'm a sucker for live music - especially being made by girls with guitars. Here are two obscure releases worth checking out.The first comes from a Canadian named Serana Ryder. The CD she's selling from her site is a short live set recorded for the CBC. My only complaint is that it's too short. It's cheap, though, like $11 shipped. Here's the site - http://www.serenaryder.com/ You can listen to some MP3s from the CD if you want to hear what she sounds like. I bought it on a whim and it is fantastic!The other CD comes from someone I mentioned on here before named Lauren Hoffman. She's been laying low for the past few years, but she's put together a band back in Charlottesville, VA and they've released a demo like CD (it's less than $10 too!). The band is called The Lilas. This one is quite a bit rockier than the Serena disc...but both women have unique voices worth experiencing. Again, a gem of a CD.
