Icon You had to know it was coming Kravitz.

Wow, wow, wow…

That is all I can say. I apparently missed one hell of a discussion last week. Guess it serves me right for taking off work. Anyway it has become apparent to myself that Kravitz is not only never wrong but that he in fact feels he is a god. His refusal to compromise and crass statements and comparisons are outlandish and ignorant. EXAMPLES:

In considering the costs of putting someone to death you are ignoring the whole mandated appeals process. What does it cost to have the courts with all their lawyers (often provided by the state due to our fondness for whacking the poor) and judges and bailiffs and clerks? That's what I'm talking about - those costs are often between a quarter and half million dollars for every convict that is murdered.

Not sure where you got your facts but they are ludicrous. These are distorted figures. Every salary you listed in this statement is paid regardless of an appeal or not. These are constant salaries and not based on the number of cases heard or assigned. There is no increase in salary for these appeal procedures. This is one of the myths that the media supply in order to misrepresent the facts and distort the truth. Guarantee you if you look at one lawyer that worked on two appeals his salary is included in the costs of both case yet he is only paid one time. The only thing that appeals cost are time and most people in the criminal justice system do not get paid overtime (salaried). Look at the facts not the media representation of them. In addition, the majority of those that are sentenced without agreement appeal their conviction even when the death penalty is not involved and they are not mandatory.

If someone killed my daughter I'd take them out myself, not rely on some poor union employee to do it.

Spoken like a true fool, So you do condone the Death Penalty, you’re just pissed that the system is neglecting you the right to satisfy your irrational cravings?

And I don't care what the parents of these kids might think about the show - they don't have special rights to approve or disapprove of what goes on the television

Yikes-  did I read that right. You are absolutely correct in the fact that they don’t have special rights which is something that groups have been working with Congress for a long time now. There is a constant pressure to increase victim’s rights and progress is slowly being made. This is an effort that has been spearheaded by the ever pompous John Walsh. While I don’t like the man I applaud his efforts for victim’s rights. The fact you don’t care is pathetic.

I am surprised that you and O’Reilly are not both friends: first, you are both unrelentingly perfect in your thought processes, and second you both turn to sarcasm or uneducated personal attacks when cornered or proven asinine or wrong.

Just to let you know, the death penalty does not discriminate. Those that have the power to manipulate the information being inputted into the system and those that have the privilege of decided how to use that and interpret that information are the ones that have the ability to discriminate. Some of the ways that that is done is through false reporting of crimes, mis-handled evidence, planted evidence, poor communication, poor questioning or clarification within the court system, jury nullification, judicial privileges. All of these allow guilty people to walk and innocent people to sit or worse. There is no perfect system. I am not suggesting that we settle for what we have. What I am suggesting is that people like youself try to open your mind a little. I vision that if you ever sit on a jury, you would be the type of juror that will have his mind made up in a matter of minutes and nothing the prosecution or defense says or presents is going to change your opinion. Your inability to desire the willingness to take in and accept information that would cause you to change something already structured in your belief system makes you a candidate to allow these injustices to continue. Should you ever have the opportunity to sit on a jury I hope you sit there, take in all presented information and utilize all of your thought processes and make a decision that you know is right and deserving to the defendant based on the information presented, not the plethora of useless "knowledge" and opinions you have amassed in you head. Nothing personal just a suggestion.

And just where the frig is Kent ?

I need my fill, I’ll take Kent’s interesting tidbits over Kravitz’s selfish rambling anyday.

Later-

Jason
