Forgive me if I sound like I'm laying it on thick here, but I think you tell America's Stories better than Kodak.

As for your 'pointedly obscure' music - hey buddy, you don't get more 'obscure' than Vermont - except maybe Montana or Alaska.

As for your politics, personality, etc.  - I can't believe how much of this you've shared.  I'm a divorced father, and for awhile my son refused to sleep over (contrary to the custody arrangement).  This was really devastating, and when you posted your story about 'Waterback' with your boy it really helped re-focus my attention on my son instead of my pain.  That said, I don't really expect anything from you in these regards.  I hope this wasn't too vomit inducing - it's the closest I've come to writing a fan letter.
