Predictions are democrats will get a minimum 50/50 split in the senate and whittle the house down to a 8 seat spread. That leaves Edwards as the deciding vote. At that point, yuou make deals. I don't know who said it, but there are two things you don't want to know how they are made - Sausage and Law.
