Interesting tale, and I will forward it to a buddy of mine that used to roadie for CT fulltime.
They did a tour a few years back where they played their first four albums in their entirety on consecutive nights. I caught the Heaven Tonight portion, which was awesome - for the bass solo on Auf Wiedersehen alone.
The bassist, Tom Petersson, designs and builds his own bass guitars, which is probably why you didn't recognize them. Back in the day he had started a rumour that he was Scandinavian, so when he left the band in the early 80's a lot of people thought he was in Europe. Totally fooled most everyone.
Bun E. lives in Rockford, and I used to visit with him at the minor league games there (he was a season ticket holder). Alas, the team has moved away.
The band used to be managed by Ken Adamany, a real cocksucker of a concert promoter. He currently has a stranglehold on the Madison concert scene and most regular show attendees would like to drop kick his ass down a long flight of steps. I would prefer the elevator shaft for brevity.
