Driving from Gladstone to Karratha ( Central Qld to North WA)in 74, about a 6 day trip non stop,..middle of summer,no air con.The temperature on the Nullabor Plains can reach 50c (yep..thats 120f), and the Nullabor was a dirt/bulldust crossing(1000miles)at the time.I was 16 with my 2 brothers and a sister in the back seat, Mum And Dad in front and an 8-track with only Neil Diamond tapes...over and over and over and over............sweet fucking caroline!
