I don't think you or David or any of the rest of the LIBs up here hate America.
Well, we don't but you must certainly see that there is a segment of our government that badly would like to label us as "America haters" or "Bush haters"...really it must be simple to see why we would despise such a banner hanging over our heads...not to mention it makes us sound like a bunch of hysterical 5 year olds. It's silly and stupid to reduce it to that.
I would have to think that in a time of true crisis we would band together and fight for the cause.
Good, because you never know it may come to that and really it shouldn't.
I do not believe the true cause in in Iraq.
It's not. I guess the big difference with us on that is you seem to feel the Bush administration had reason to do that and we see no evidence to support that.
I believe in Patriotism and think the Pledge of Allegiance and The Star Spangled Banner mean something.
Well, people have different ways to demonstrate their patriotism and some don't see simple symbols as the best way to do that. I think we all value these things.
I believe in our lifetime we will be tested on our own turf. I believe we will be forced into racial profiling in order to survive. It's not something I necessarily agree with but it is a reality.
I would say we have already been tested on our turf and I think we have different opinions of how we responded to that.
So Reg are we that far apart?
Technically, no we're not. As I said, I believe I'm on your side. I certainly don't agree with the idea that government should be able to reduce or remove personal freedoms...once you take steps in that direction you open the door to a domino effect. It seems you're willing to do that and I'm not.
