Why is that? It may be because most of them are poorly educated. Did you hear the interviews? It may be because they'd rather collect state and federal aid rather than work. Who's to blame for their condition Ed? You? Me? Bush? Or are they themselves to blame?
*** Poor people, many of whom are renters by the way, have to choose how to spend their hard earned dollars: food, mortgage, health care.... flood insurance. ***
If they're that poor they don't have a mortgage so they wouldn't need flood insurance. And I'm sorry to say this but many of the poor I saw on TV weren't exactly starving.
*** As to subsidizing people's "irresponsibility", well I don't hear you criticizing the billions of your tax dollars going to those lazy and stupid Iraqis who were too irresponsible to organize their own democracy. ***
Actually, with our help, they're organizing their own democracy quite well. Unfortunately, Al Qaeda, Cindy Sheehan, the ACLU and a few others are doing everything they can to see that they fail.
