While inhaling a heady vapor of basil & clove essential oil the other night to fight off the dry furnace air...I was thinking how the last time we landed in LAX, driving out of there in a rental, ...the 405 was like a parking lot (rush hour traffic style) @ 8:30...PM.

Some friends from Van Nuys, very cool [old-school] California chill with an islander style cabana & bar in their back yard and Margaritaville & Volcano & (little) Surfer Girl piping out of a carved mahogany sea turtle’s mouth beside th’ cement mini-scale Diamond Head waterslide at the foot of the backyard pool, ...bought an option-loaded pontoon boat & moved into a Laughlin riverside bungalow because the neighborhood had gotten so...abundant...that they couldn’t hear to talk around the pool anymore (...so they never left the house....)
