Agree. I thought it was mediocre at best. Sounds like a political decision there. That doesn't happen at Academy Awards too much, does it???
My vote would have been Walk the Line. Joaquin Phoenix' portrayal of Johnny Cash was amazing, and it was an excellent film. Reese Witherspoon paled by comparison, though a solid performance. Best actress? Not sure.
Glad to see Hoffman won best actor for his role in Capote. Well deserved.
