In late 80's I was working in a Dallas restaurant (wasn't serving eviscerated rabbit, though) called Joey's Flying Tomato. The Dixie Chicks played one night, and totally packed the house. I was not at all into their music, but I was quite impressed with how nice they were and how enthusiastic their fans were. That must have been right before they hit it big.
Thanks for making the Texas Lt Gov comment - now I'm going to be racking my brain trying to remember what I was supposed to have learned in that freshman class back in Mesquite.
