It's Not Joe Lieberman Who Lost

It's the Democrat party.

With Lieberman conceding defeat tonight, he confirmed he will run as an independent in the November election. His concession speech was anything but, thank goodness.

"Of course I am disappointed by the results, but I am not discouraged," Lieberman said..

"The old politics of partisan polarization won today," Lieberman said. "For the sake of our state, our country and my party, I cannot and will not let that result stand."

"Tomorrow morning our campaign will file the necessary petitions … so that we can continue this campaign for a new politics of unity and purpose."

Even after years of watching my party decline, I have refused to abandon it, even if it means remaining as an example of what being a Democrat used to mean, and the difference between Classical Liberal politics versus today's stink of leftist tripe. I would expect Joe to remain a Democrat, but a win for him on November as an Independent will mean this entire nation wins. All in all, the November election is shaping up to be even more important than we could have imagined.

There was good news tonight as well. Proving that not all Dems are Soros leftists, voters in Georgia handed Cynthia McKinney a well-deserved defeat. She was unworthy of the office and the good people of that district made it clear they've had enough.

Adios Cynthia. Don't let that door hit you with its cell phone on your way out.
