November of this year creeping up on them like an army of assassins, Congressional seats challenged everywhere, Iraq War by almost all accounts a complete and utter disaster, Bin Laden rearing his ugly head, reminding everybody of how little the Bushites have done to actually do the job of protecting US citizens or their allies... Signs of global warming coming clearer and more undeniable. Economic disaster looming, gas prices rocketing, a housing bubble popping, and nobody in the bullpen for Nov 08. President Frist, anyone? President Santorum? President Rice? The Republicans have painted themselves into a corner, and if a motivated Democratic Congress chooses to, which I hope they will, serious investigations into the criminal activities of the whole lot of them. Abramoff left an email trail a mile wide to follow the corruption and huggery muggery, not to mention Bobby Kennedy Jr coming after them with vote fraud charges. Not only are the Republicans poised to lose an election, but a large number of them are poised to lose their freedom.
