Terry Allen is a mad genius! My personal favorite is "Human Remains," but all of his work is amazing. He is also a renowned visual artist (mostly sculpture, I think), as well as a playwright. Truly a renaissance man. He is wonderful live, but performs very seldom; if he shows up anywhere near you, do go!
