Mac's are like AOL with regards to platform - not as much
software
out there for it so it only does so much...both'll get you where you
need to go...'specially nowadays...
I won't even start getting into a MAC vs PC thing with you,
because
MAC has many advantages over PC in some respects and the one
I'm running (G5 with OSX 10.4) in terms of architecture and
stability wipes the floor
with most PC's. I do agree that software (depending on which
software things you like) is not as available on MAC. And
sometimes that gets me a little annoyed. For example, although I
think visuals and graphics appear better on a MAC, some of their
drawing programs are not as good as with PC. Also, for publishing
Apple can't hold a candle to Windows Office and the like. I had to
buy Office for MAC at around 250.00. It was the only way. So...I
do agree with you partially. If someone new to computers were
asking me, I would recommend they get a PC instead of a MAC. I
actually have both. I bought the MAC thinking one day I'd get into
Protools for music. I am sooo confused about ProTools and see
there is soo much tweaking to do with it, that as a musician I think
it would just frustrate me, so I've given up. I will just use a stand
alone unit (as I have been) so I can just "plug in and play". But...I
now do have a nice MAC. Maybe I made the wrong move. Too late
now. Mebbe next time...
