Caller called in an basically said if he knew we were going in and fighting with our safeties on worried about firing and being in the court the next day explaning would never have supported going in. We have a large faction worldwide especially in the press that wants no confrontation no matter what terrorists do. So do I think we were wrong going in? Absolutely the way we did and with a press that second guesses every death that has occurred. To say the press coverage on the war has been balanced is ludicrous. That is not to say that if the press had been totally fair that things would be different but it definitely affects the way fighting occurs. So if we are really getting attacked by Iranians coming in and that is is what the fight is centered on we will have to fight this faction eventually.
What everyone in the world will have to realize is that diplomacy will never solve this problem. So if we leave and the Iranian vaccum goes into full tilt who will be blamed? No one............
