Mr O'Reilly misrepresented the facts regarding Judge Cashman's
sentencing of a child molester here last year. How, because he
only reported what suited him; which amounted to maximizing a
sensational lie.The fact of the matter is that Judge Cashman took a brave stand
with the sentence, and forced a change due to a flaw in our system.
What O'Reilly didn't tell you is that the offender, based on Vermont
rule of law, as it stood at the time, the molester would have been
released in a few months time because he would not have received
sex offender treatment in jail because our legislature had not
provided the funding. Thus, he would have had to have been
released to a residential setting, in order to attend treatment
organization. Thanks to the Judges intentionally eye catching
sentence, which by the way was, if I recall correctly 2 months to ten
years, our legislature has rectifiied the lack of funding. O'Reilly
seemed to skip over the mention of the ten years too.As Dale points out, O'Reilly does say some stuff I would agree with,
but in my book Bill O'Reilly is the worst sort of human being, he's a
sell out.peaceablyBtw, if O'Reilly is for Jessica's Law, there must be something wrong
with it. Too, there is a push to pass it in Vermont.
