Pat, you reference social security when in fact the unfunded medicare liability is ten times that of social security! And I don't believe this is on the radar screen of young Americans. Sadly, it's human nature to delay dealing with hard choices until they bite you in the ass and wallet. I urge you to listen to the broadcast, Pat.

Hey Peter, it's so nice not to hear a bunch of finger pointing, this was civil talking about hard problems. These guys were articulate but I don't think two sets of books are kept. I think they (Repubs and Dems)simply make excuses that we have the problem at all. The fact that they are not only looking at tax increases as the only solution kept my attention. Cutting some fat entitlement programs should also be considered. The guy that came on and wanted to tweak the tax cut for the top 1% should also factor in what that would do to the economy. It's always considered a direct source of revenue if you cut the tax break. Responsibly you should also evaluate it's impact on taxes collected if revenue is higher.
I was listening to Hannity the other day and Dennis Kucinich saying the evil rich should have the tax cut repealed. There was a call from a small business owner who said that the tax cut which had some type of depreciation help allowed her (the business owner) to hire 1 more employee. Dennis Kucinich did not have an answer for this caller but as policians do, he said "He would look into it". I use this example just to point out that again only looking at one angle is not the way.
This show could be very well been run on right wing talk radio
Good show, thanks for the link, I listened to about 30 minutes
